Walker Holmes, born in 1997, made an impression on this world from the moment he entered it. Never meeting a stranger that he didn’t win over, it was plain to see that he had a charismatic way about him.
Throughout his school years it became clear that he has a servants heart. He is very determined and passionate about the people and things he loves. Creative and self taught in many areas, he found his love for music in middle school. His love for the art of music grew and eventually conducting became a passion. He always stepped up to do anything necessary to help the marching and symphonic bands, from moving chairs or loading equipment trailers to making copies or warming up the band. Always having a smile on his face and making others smile with him, his work ethic is never ending. During breaks from school and band, Walker discovered that he also enjoyed farm life while working at White Oak Pastures. He works in research and development in the Tallow and leather department, creating recipes for soaps and other products made from the tallow produced on the farm, as well as, leather product patterns, such as, wallets and shoulder bags among others. He enjoys the whole process of regenerative farming and leaving the world better than he found it. Teaching soon became the standout of his abilities and passions, but teaching music appeared, to all who knew him, as the obvious career choice for Walker.
Walker was accepted to Reinhardt University where he continued to charm others with his wit and lively personality, all the while honing his craft and love for music, teaching music, and gaining an appreciation and love for drama and performance in pit orchestra. Walker began to work at Adairsville High School drama camp each year, where he worked with children of all ages and loved every moment of teaching the students to sing and learn the abilities of their own voices.
Walker completed his Clinical Residency at Woodland High School. The students and faculty quickly came to respect him and enjoy class with him, as he always has an encouraging word for his students and coworkers. His time at Woodland, although short, was informative, enjoyable, and a confirmation that he was definitely on the right career path.
Loving his family and friends with all he has, and always voluntarily stepping up to meet the needs of others, Walker Holmes continues to be a blessing to all who are privileged to know him.
